FORT GORDON, GA (June 4, 2010) -- The Department of the Army has announced that Brig. Gen. LaWarren V. Patterson will become the commanding general of 7th Signal Command (Theater), replacing Brig. Gen. Jennifer L. Napper.
A date for the change of command ceremony has not yet been set.
7th Signal Command, headquartered at Fort Gordon, Ga., provides and defends network capabilities and services for Army, Joint, Interagency, and Multinational forces throughout the Western Hemisphere.
The command includes the 93rd Signal Brigade at Fort Eustis, Va., the 106th Signal Brigade at Fort Sam Houston, Tex., the Continental United States Theater Network Operations and Security Center (TNOSC) at Fort Huachuca, Ariz., the Southern TNOSC at Fort Gordon, Ga., as well as Network Enterprise Centers that provide telephone, network, and information security services at 37 Army installations across the United States.
Brig. Gen. Napper has commanded 7th Signal Command since it was activated by the Army in 2008. Patterson is currently assigned as deputy commanding general, United States Army Network Enterprise Technology Command, Fort Huachuca, Ariz.
