Paula Deen and Nationals welcome military families

On May 19, the Washington Nationals partnered with Smithfield Foods to honor military families at Nationals Park.  The event included a VIP reception prior to the game and Q&A session with Food Network star and Smithfield spokesperson Paula Deen.

Military families were treated to a night out at the May 19 Washington Nationals-New York Mets game at Nationals Park.  The event, hosted by Smithfield Foods, included a VIP reception prior to the game with 500 military members and families and Paula Deen, the "Queen of Southern Cuisine".

Renowned Southern chef and Food Network star, Paula Deen visited with troops before the May 19 Washington Nationals game. The pregame reception offered a chance for families to interact with Deen and pose for pictures as she did here with a cut out of a deployed Air Force father.
