The Federal Executive Association Quad-City Chapter (FEAQC) is an organization participating in the Federal Executive Board program established in 1961 by President John Kennedy to improve coordination among federal activities and programs outside Washington.

The FEA award program allows managers to encourage employee to achieve higher levels performance. It also helps improve job satisfaction and enhances interagency communications. More than 82 percent of all federal employees do not work in the national capitol area. There is a continuing need for effective coordination among the field activities of federal departments and agencies especially when we consider that federal officials outside Washington are the primary interface between the federal government and the citizens of this country. In addition, they are partners in the annual Combined Federal Campaign.

The FEAQC annually coordinates and facilitates a Federal Employee of the Year Awards Program for federal employees in the Quad-City area. The program is recognized as being among the most important forms of recognition afforded employees of the United States government. It also serves to demonstrate to the general public the high caliber of Americans serving in the federal service.

As part of the FEA's effort to encourage excellence and honor achievement, the Quad City Chapter of the Federal Executive Association honors Federal Employees of the Year in the following categories: Coach/Manager/Executive, Technical/Professional, Clerical/Administrative, Trades/Crafts, Public Contact, Community Service Award, and those who go the Extra Mile.

This year's FEAQC Employee Awards Ceremony and Luncheon will take place May 20, at 11:30 a.m., in Heritage Hall, Bldg. 60, on Rock Island Arsenal. The keynote address will be delivered by Jeffrey Lang, a United States Attorney for the Central District of Illinois.
