REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. -- The Department of the Army Civilian of the Year Award is presented annually by the Redstone-Huntsville Chapter of the Association of the U.S. Army. The winner then goes on to compete for the national AUSA award at the organization's annual meeting in October.
This year's winner, Lisha Adams, deputy director of Aviation and Missile Command's G-3 (Operations) was among eight nominees in the Management/Executive category. She won both the top DA civilian award and her category's award.
Other nominees in the Management/Executive category were: Michael Connolly, director, Army Space Personnel Development Office, Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command; Jimmy Downs, deputy product manager, Kiowa Warrior, Program Executive Office for Aviation; Dale Moore, director of systems integration, Cruise Missile Defense Systems Project Office, Program Executive Office for Missiles and Space; William Knox, director of business management, JAMS Project Office, Program Executive Office for Missiles and Space; William Ruta, project manager for Close Combat Weapon Systems Project Office, Program Executive Office for Missiles and Space; Robert Thomas, project manager of the Integrated Air and Missile Defense Project Office, Program Executive Office for Missiles and Space; and Ollie Toney III, director of logistics, Lower Tier Project Office, Program Executive Office for Missiles and Space.
Thomas Lapointe, aviation special projects lead for rapid deployment efforts, Prototype Integration Facility, Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center, Research Development and Engineering Command, was the winning nominee in the Professional/Technical category. Other nominees were Brett Boren, senior computer engineer and lab manager for the Electro-Optical Sensor Flight Evaluation Laboratory, Redstone Test Center, Developmental Test Command; Willie Gaddis, team leader, demand and supply planning, Integrated Materiel Management Center, Aviation and Missile Command; Jodi Gott, information technology supervisor, 2nd Recruiting Brigade, Recruiting Command; Kim Henry, deputy chief of AMCOM/Garrison Public and Congressional Affairs Office; James Hillis, international program management specialist, Security Assistance Management Directorate, Aviation and Missile Command; Preston Lindsey, information technology specialist and data base administrator for the Armywide Central Dissymmetry Records Repository, Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment Activity, Aviation and Missile Command; and Lejeania Wood, senior operations research systems analyst, cost analyst lead for Surface Launched Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile Program, Cruise Missiles Defense Systems Project Office, Program Executive Office for Missiles and Space.
Sheila McCrary-Crutcher, management assistant for the Command Sergeant Major Office, Aviation and Missile Command, was the winning nominee in the Supporting Staff category. Other nominees were Verna Preston, data quality manager, Fox Army Health Center, MEDDAC; Michael Roach, logistics management specialist, Security Assistance Management Directorate, Aviation and Missile Command; and Beverly Tierney, executive assistant to the project manager, Cruise Missiles Defense Systems Project Office, Program Executive Office for Missiles and Space.
