REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. - The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command raised $480 for the Army Emergency Relief campaign during a chili cook-off April 8.

Fourteen volunteers prepared their special chili recipes for the AER Best Dang Chili Cook Off Contest. First- through third-place ribbons were awarded in four categories: best taste, most exotic taste, best presentation and most unique name.

The winners of each category were:

Best taste - first, K.C. Bertling, G-1; second, Stacey McSweeney, Congressional Affairs; and third Donald Kellogg, G-6

Most exotic taste - first, Karen Butler, G-1; second, Debra Rice, G-8; and third, Scott Ross, G-6

Best presentation - first, K.C. Bertling, G-1; second, Karen Butler, G-1; and third, Steven Davis, G-1

Most unique name - Scott Ross, G-6, for "Cockadoodle Delight"

The four judges from the command included Col. Kendal Cunningham, chief of staff; Sgt. Maj. John Mattie, G-3; Lt. Col. Gwendolyn Lee, G-1; and Diane Barker, G-6.

AER Redstone provides emergency financial assistance to active duty and retired Soldiers and their Families.
