SDDC deputy commander tapped as next Chief of Transportation

The Office of the Army Chief of Staff announced yesterday Col. (Promotable) Edward F. Dorman III, deputy commander and director of operations for the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command at Fort Eustis, Va., will be assigned as the commander and commandant of the United States Army Transportation Center and School at Fort Eustis.

Dorman served as deputy commander for SDDC since Aug. 27, 2009. SDDC provides global surface deployment and distribution services to meet the nation's objectives by deploying and sustaining more than 90 percent of Department of Defense equipment and supplies by leveraging the capability of commercial industry and other military services.
