ARLINGTON, Va. (Army News Service, June 18, 2007) - The Installation Management Command has extended its application deadline to June 22 for the fiscal 2008 Centralized Mentoring Program.
Centrally funded by Headquarters, IMCOM, the mentoring program is designed to develop high-potential employees into well-rounded managers at the middle or senior level by preparing them to assume higher levels of responsibility.
Employees who are in GS-11 through GS-13 equivalent positions may apply to be matched with senior leaders for a one-year mentoring partnership. Mentees complete a one-week shadow assignment, stretch assignments and eLearning courses, and meet regularly with their mentors.
Senior leaders willing to volunteer as mentors also are being solicited.
Applications require supervisor's approval, and garrison applicants require endorsement from the garrison commander or manager or the deputy garrison commander. Region applicants require an endorsement from region director or designee. Applicants at Headquarters IMCOM must obtain their supervisor's and division chief's approval.
Announcements and application forms can be found at <a href="http://www.imcom.army.mil/site/hr/wfdhcmp.asp"target=_blank>www.imcom.army.mil/site/hr/wfdhcmp.asp</a>.
