Soldiers from the 379th Engineer Company take a defensive security position by a Humvee guntruck on a Fort McCoy training lane. The Soldiers are Spc. Jacob Gaylord, Spc. Paul Alves, Pvt. Brad Feola and Spc. David Demattos. The 379th, a Massachusetts Army National Guard unit, is training to deploy in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Convoy Commander Staff Sgt. Carl Travis visits with local villagers who have gathered by a stopped line of guntrucks at Fort McCoy, Wis. Travis is flanked by Spc. Anthony Perry and Pfc. William Friese. The Soldiers are with the 1092nd Engineer Battalion Forward Support Company. The Soldiers were training to interact with villagers portrayed by cultural role players. The 1092nd, a West Virginia Army National Guard unit, is training at Fort McCoy in preparation for depoloyment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
