DETROIT ARSENAL, Mich. Aca,!" The second contingency team of the 127th Wing Air National Guard Security Forces Squadron returned Thursday, Feb. 25, from deployment in support of Operation New Dawn.

Chris Platz, a full-time employee of the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security at the Detroit Arsenal, also serves as the 127th SFS commander and had recently been activated with the unit to Iraq.

A newlywed, Platz married his wife just one month before deploying.

After six months of being separated from his family, Platz is looking forward to doing simple everyday activities to reintegrate.

Platz will return to his position as an anti-terrorism officer at DPTMS following a month of leave.

The 127th SFS provided air base ground defense on Camp Sather at the Baghdad International Airport. No casualties occurred during deployment.
