Staff Sgt. Myrna Ojeda, 413th Contracting Support Brigade, Fort Shafter, Hawaii entered the Army in 1995 and attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advance Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia. Prior to her reclassification to the MOS 51C (contracting noncommisioned officer), Ojeda served as an 92A, automated logistical specialist in worldwide assignments and deployments.
Her prior experience and expertise as a Logistician will play a significant role in her future duties as a Contingency Contracting Officer.
"I changed my MOS because there wasn't any career progression in my previous MOS. Having only six years remaining until retirement, I was looking for an MOS that would allow me to finish my degree and grow professionally," said the Bronx native. Ojeda is currently pursuing her Bachelors degree in Liberal Arts with Thomas Edison College.
Due to limited staff personnel, Ojeda is currently serving as the operations NCOIC for the brigade and performs all the S1 functions as well. Since her arrival to the 413th, she has made a tremendous impact on the organization. She's played a major role during the brigade's Initial command inspection conducted earlier this month.
She was recognized by the Expeditionary Contracting Command staff and the 413th commander for her tireless efforts in preparing for the inspection. In addition, she received the first impact award issued by the unit. Once the OPS/S1 vacancy is filled, Ojeda will become a member of the 603rd Senior Contingency Contracting Team where she will learn and perfect her craft as a CCO.
