INCIRLIK AIR BASE, Turkey - Covered maintenance bays, a fenced service yard, and public car wash and vacuum stations are just some of the amenities a new Auto Hobby Shop brings to the Air Force community here.

To celebrate the grand opening of this new facility, constructed through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Europe District, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held January 5, hosted by the 39th Air Base Wing.

The $1.2 million, single-story facility took nearly a year to complete.

Facilities like this, along with housing units recently completed and a consolidated community center currently being designed, provide an immeasurable increase in the quality of life for warfighters here, said Milton Ricks, the district's project manager.

"The end goal, obviously, is the well-being of our military families," he said. "We have a long history and strong partnership with the Air Force community here and we're proud to be a part of the team that is modernizing and transforming these facilities."
