Winter Snow Storm blankets Fort McNair

By Mrs. Debra Preitkis (JFHQNCR/MDW)December 22, 2009

A massive winter storm temporarily closed Fort McNair on Monday, December 21. The command's gates reopened on Tuesday, December 22. The roads are clear, but cold temperatures mean the snow won't melt quickly. As you can see, the snow is still very deep along the edge of the Potomac River. The Joint Operation Center continued to operate throughout the storm and was able to notify the command of operational status through automated messaging.
