Army Management Staff College opens registration for annual Leadership Symposium

Seats are filling quickly for Army Management Staff CollegeAca,!a,,cs 5th Annual Leadership Symposium, March 2-4, 2010 at Fort Belvoir, Va., so those wishing to attend should register soon.

The symposium is open to all Federal Government employees. Since seats are filling quickly, registration will close when it reaches capacity. Those interested can register at http://www.amsc.belvoir.army.mil/symposium/index.jsp

The AMSC Leadership Symposium provides attendees an opportunity to hear new perspectives on leadership, network as they process information and apply it to their organizations. AMSC has designed the 2010 symposium under the theme, Aca,!A"Developing Leaders.Aca,!A?

As a Center for Lifelong Leader Development, AMSC is in tune with what civilian leaders want to hear about. The symposium will include an array of topics to include an update on Base Realignment and Closure and its impact on installations.

Attendees will have an opportunity to attend breakout sessions led by Senior Executive Service officials in the Army. In addition, world-renown guest speakers will conduct workshops and provide attendees tools for their leadership toolboxes.

The 4th annual leadership symposium in January 2009 included remarks from Pete Geren, former Secretary of the Army, and the presentation of the Inaugural Excellence in Education Award. The award encourages and rewards organizations that strengthen the core attributes of the Army workforce through innovation in education, aggressive and creative professional development programs, and a unique emphasis on lifelong learning.

In 2010, the 2nd annual Excellence in Education Award recipients will be announced and presented awards.
