Fort Knox, Ky. — The annual installation Thanksgiving meal will take place at Cantigny Dining Facility (Bldg. 2835) from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 25.
The lunch will be served by installation and mission partner leaders to celebrate the holiday season and give back to the Fort Knox community. The event will kick off with opening remarks by Col. Dave Holstead Fort Knox Garrison commander, a blessing of the food by Garrison Chaplain (Col.) Erik Spicer and a cake cutting.
The cost is $11.85 per person. Service members ranked specialist and below, or those on field duty without per diem and their immediate Family members may qualify for a discounted holiday meal rate of $8.75. Children five years of age and under eat free.
The event will be open to Soldiers, Family members, retirees and Civilian employees.
There will also be a separate Thanksgiving-themed menu served at Kouma Dining Facility (Bldg. 1491) for Soldiers and DA Civilians to enjoy from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Though the food will be similar to the offerings at Cantigny, the meal will not feature festive decorations, a cake cutting or leadership presence.
The cost for the Kouma meal will be the standard $7.25 lunch rate and will feature a slightly reduced selection of options.
