Fort Bragg students win post-wide energy contest

FORT BRAGG, N.C. - Three Fort Bragg students were recognized Friday as the winners of the Fort Bragg Department of Defense Education Activity Energy Artwork Contest.

Destiny Garrison, Rafael De Los Santos and Fred Thompson, were chosen as the winners from submissions sent in from all Fort Bragg schools fourth through sixth graders.

The winners were presented with a coin, certificate of appreciation and gift bag from Greg Bean, Fort Bragg Directorate of Public Works director in their classrooms.

Garrison is a sixth grader at Irwin Intermediate School, De Los Santos is a fourth grader at Murray Elementary School and Thompson is a fifth grader at Irwin Intermediate School. Their artwork will be made into light switch plate covers that will remind people to turn off the lights.
