Whether families are newly arriving on an installation or just looking to familiarize themselves with available services for their loved ones, the My Army Post App (MAPA) provides quick access to reliable information to ease the transition.

That includes details on fitness centers, youth sports, libraries, outdoor recreation, and family events.

“We are always looking for ways to help Soldiers and Families discover and participate in the MWR activities that bring our communities together,” said Josh Gwinn, Director of IMCOM’s Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation directorate. “Whether they are interested in youth sports, a family event, a fitness center or outdoor recreation, the app makes it easier to find programs that support readiness, well-being and community. That’s especially important during a PCS, when Soldiers and Families are transitioning to a new community and looking for ways to connect, get involved and feel at home.”

The platform ensures families have quick and reliable access to the information they need to thrive the moment they step on an installation.

Not only does this reduce the need to search across websites or call multiple offices for basic details, but it can also help increase awareness of programs that support quality of life, resilience, and community connection.

The platform also supports the broader MWR mission by improving how installations share information with the people they serve. Programs are most effective when families can find current information quickly and act on it without unnecessary barriers.

“MAPA represents a critical leap forward in how we support our installations,” said Pete Michaelson, IMCOM’s Chief Technology and Data Analytics Officer. “By leveraging technology that we use every day, we are streamlining access to critical services and actively improving the daily lives of our Soldiers and their families”

As IMCOM continues to modernize service delivery, MAPA offers a practical quality-of-life tool for installation communities. By improving access to MWR activities and family support services, the app helps strengthen day-to-day connections for soldiers and families.
