FORT BENNING, Ga. — The Army has selected the Maneuver Center of Excellence and Fort Benning as one of five initial hosts for its next-generation nuclear power initiative, the Janus Program.
"The Maneuver Center of Excellence and Fort Benning serve as an innovation center of gravity for the Army," said Maj. Gen. Colin P. Tuley, Maneuver Center of Excellence and Fort Benning commanding general. "Our Garrison team is ready to expand its resilient, secure, and reliable energy footprint through the Janus Program."
This selection followed a comprehensive Army review of industry proposals to ensure selected partners can meet installations’ specific operational needs. The Janus Program directly supports Executive Order 14299 by deploying advanced nuclear technology to achieve energy resilience and mission readiness by 2028.
Throughout the planning and construction process, the Fort Benning Garrison team is committed to working with our Army-identified industry partner to maintain transparent, accessible communication for our communities and the Chattahoochee Valley.
