JIATF-401 signs $500M Domestic Shield Counter-Drone Contract

Joint Interagency Task Force 401 (JIATF-401) has awarded an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract with a $500 million ceiling to CACI International, Inc., to rapidly increase counter-unmanned aircraft systems (c-UAS) capabilities for warfighters. These capabilities directly support Domestic Shield, a JIATF-401-led effort to enhance homeland drone defense.

Under this new ID/IQ, JIATF-401 can procure a variety of C-UAS systems. CORIAN v3 system is a permanent, fixed-site configuration of the SkyValor system focused exclusively on radio frequency (RF) capabilities. BEAM is a low size, weight and power system with radio frequency and direction finding (RF/DF) capability offering best in class RF detect, track, identify and non-kinetic defeat. These capabilities can be configured for either fixed-site or mobile employment. The first task order procures CACI’s SkyValor solutions for c-UAS detect and defeat options in support of homeland defense.

"Moving at the speed of relevance requires acquisition reform and contracts like this enable the procurement agility we need to rapidly deliver c-UAS technology to our warfighters," said COL Tony Lindh, Deputy Director for Rapid Acquisitions in JIATF-401. "Leveraging an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) contract allows us to avoid overly specific product-centric programs. Since there is no single solution for drone defense, we must have the flexibility to procure layered systems to defend the homeland."

These investments demonstrate JIATF-401’s ability to rapidly maneuver the acquisition process and deliver counter drone capabilities at an accelerated pace, ensuring that warfighters across the Joint Force remain lethal on today’s modern battlefield.
