Schedule: Maintenance on USAG Ansbach gates affects traffic flow

ANSBACH, Germany — Replacement of the final denial barriers at USAG Ansbach gates continues now through the upcoming fall and winter months.

The construction — which impacts how you enter and exit USAG Ansbach installations — will occur in phases.

These barrier projects are directed by the U.S. Army and managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

STORCK EXIT GATE

  • Scheduled Maintenance: Completed

KATTERBACH SOUTH GATE (HIGH SCHOOL GATE)

  • Scheduled Maintenance: Completed
  • Alternative Entrance/Exit: Gate remains closed to staff alternate gate locations during barrier maintenance.
  • Expected Re-Open Date: November-December 2026

STORCK MAIN GATE

  • Scheduled Maintenance: April-July 31, 2026
  • Alternative Entrance/Exit: Enter through the Apache Gate and exit through the Storck Exit Gate.
  • Expected Re-Open Date: August 3, 2026

KATTERBACH EXIT (B14 CROSSOVER)

  • Scheduled Maintenance: July 20-September 2, 2026
  • Expected Re-Open Date: September 2026
  • Alternative Entrance/Exit: Enter and exit through Katterbach Main Gate. Enter Bismarck through Bismarck Back Gate.

BISMARCK EXIT (B14 CROSSOVER)

  • Scheduled Maintenance: September 2-October 17, 2026
  • Expected Re-Open Date: Mid-October 2026
  • Alternative Entrance/Exit: Enter and exit through Bismarck Back Gate.

KATTERBACH MAIN GATE

  • Scheduled Maintenance: October 19 - November 30, 2026
  • Expected Re-Open Date: December 2026

Construction Detour - Katterbach Exit
Construction on the Katterbach Exit Gate at the B14 crossover is scheduled to take place July 20 - Sept. 2, 2026. During this time, vehicular traffic must enter and exit Katterbach Kaserne via the Katterbach Main Gate. Pedestrian traffic can still utilize the crossover. To get to Bismarck Kaserne, enter through the Bismarck Back Gate and exit through the normal exit at the B14 crossover.

During this time, vehicular traffic must enter and exit Katterbach Kaserne via the Katterbach Main Gate.

Pedestrian traffic can still utilize the crossover.

To get to Bismarck Kaserne, enter through the Bismarck Back Gate and exit through the normal exit at the B14 crossover.

The Katterbach South Gate (High School Gate) remains closed during this time to staff alternate gate locations during barrier maintenance.

BISMARCK EXIT (B14 CROSSOVER)
SEPT. 2 - OCT. 17, 2026
Construction Detour - Bismarck Exit
Once construction is complete on the Katterbach Exit Gate, construction begins on the Bismarck Exit Gate at the B14 crossover, scheduled to take place Sept. 2 - Oct. 17, 2026. During this time, vehicular traffic must enter and exit Bismarck Kaserne via the Bismarck Back Gate. Pedestrian traffic can still utilize the crossover but must enter Bismarck near the theater (100 yards west of the crossover).

Pedestrian traffic can still utilize the crossover but must enter Bismarck near the theater (100 yards west of the crossover).

During this time, vehicular traffic will be able to enter and exit Katterbach Kaserne through the Katterbach Main Gate. Vehicular traffic will also be able to exit the Katterbach Exit Gate but will not be able to enter Bismarck at the B14 crossover.

The Katterbach South Gate (High School Gate) remains closed during this time to staff alternate gate locations during barrier maintenance.
