101st Airborne Division Distinguished Visitor Flight

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. – The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) invites media to the launch of a distinguished visitor flight at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2026, as part of its celebration of the Week of the Eagles.

The 101st Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB) will conduct a distinguished visitor flight at 8 a.m. May 16, 2026, as part of the Week of the Eagles Air Assault Demonstration. The flight, hosted by the 5th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment “Eagle Assault,” will feature 2nd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment Vietnam Medal of Honor recipient Michael J. Fitzmaurice, 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment Vietnam Medal of Honor recipient Kenneth David, Korean War veteran Fred Forsyth, and Mayor Kees Van Rooij of Meierijstad, Netherlands.

“It is an honor for the 101st CAB to host Medal of Honor recipients Mr. Fitzmaurice and Mr. David, as well as Mr. Forsyth and Mayor Van Rooij,” said Col. Tyler Partridge, 101st CAB commander. “As we celebrate the Week of the Eagles, this flight serves as a powerful reminder of the legacy we inherit and the enduring international partnerships, we maintain as Screaming Eagles. The Eagle Assault air crews are incredibly proud to take these distinguished guests to the skies to showcase Fort Campbell and the Clarksville community that so strongly supports us.”

The flight will depart to the southeast and take the visitors through the Fort Campbell training area ahead of the Week of the Eagles Air Assault Demonstration.

Attending representatives are required to pre-register for a Fort Campbell visitor pass online at https://pass.aie.army.mil/. Media will meet their PAO escort, Capt. Andrew Lightsey, at the Smokehaus parking lot, Sportsmans Lane, Clarksville, Tenn., no later than 7:30 a.m., May 16.
