Valentine's Day for the Toruń Metropolitan Area will become more than just Valentine's Day! Toruń's Old Town Square – the heart of the metropolis – will transform into a romantic scene unlike any other.

Love is in the square (February 12-15)

During these days, daily from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the Old Town Square will be ablaze with moving murals set to music. The moving murals, titled "Love is in the Square," were created by the Hungarian group Lightspray Visual, known for creating monumental, kinetic light paintings. The artists combine classic lighting techniques with modern visual language, utilizing vintage high-brightness projectors and their own, moving structures. Thanks to them, Market Square's architecture will come alive with light, movement, and rhythm, creating an atmospheric space perfect for evening strolls.

'Between' exhibition by Magdalena Gazur opens in Boleslawiec

Known to the people of Bolesławiec for her unique designs and implementations, which have won recognition and awards at festivals and fairs dedicated to applied design.

The meeting was led by Dr. Anna Bober-Tubaj - director of the museum and the heroine of the evening, M. Gazur, who invited guests into the world of her work, talking about her new collections, artistic passions, ideas and inspirations.

The exhibition's title highlights the understatement that always accompanies ceramics, which are essentially always in between—between design and production, between the production line and the user's home, between tradition and modernity, between the object's assigned function and its actual use. M. Gazur presents the full range of possibilities that ceramics offer both the designer and the user. He demonstrates that it is not so obvious and ordinary, even though it accompanies us daily. It is always possible to create new qualities and combining them with tradition produces interesting effects clearly embedded in a cultural context.

The meeting was a wonderful opportunity to learn about the projects of the artist, who has been designing for the Bolesławiec Manufaktura for 15 years. The exhibition presented production collections from the series "1960s" (2014), "Blue Line - Modern" (2016), "Forest Line" (2022), and "Three Dots" (2025), as well as occasional and anniversary designs. All are connected by the designer and the location of their creation – the Bolesławiec Manufaktura. The exhibition also featured a decoration created for the 30th anniversary of the Manufaktura, "Touch Line" (2022), an artistic record of the history of the "heart" of the plant – the paint shop; a limited edition of flowerpots designed for the 75th anniversary of the National Museum in Wrocław (2023); and the "Bicycle Collection," a decorative motif for a bicycle frame (2024). The exhibition's focal point is the collection of "Hourglass" vases (2025), decorated with spray-on stencils. This is the artist's nod to the local pre-war tradition, when vessels with geometric spray-on decorations were particularly popular in the 1930s.

M. Gazur is an artist of many talents, working with a variety of materials. She designed the HopOnTop collection (2021) for the Julia Crystal Glassworks in Piechowice. In 2022, she designed a collection of woolen rugs, and in 2025, she began working with Ravon, designing BlueDot series sinks and bathtubs inspired by the cobalt dots of Bolesławiec.

The exhibition will be on display until March 15, 2026. We invite all lovers of design and Bolesławiec stoneware to visit. We also inform you that curatorial tours are planned during the exhibition. We will announce their dates in future posts. (info.Museum of Ceramics)

'Romantic Chopin' immersive experience opens in Poznań

Starting February 7th, the Poznań International Fair will offer an opportunity to immerse yourself in the unique world of an exhibition dedicated to Fryderyk Chopin, one of the greatest composers of the Romantic era. "Romantic Chopin" is a modern, immersive exhibition that combines classical music with advanced visual technologies, offering viewers a moving artistic experience.

Following its resounding success in Warsaw, where the exhibition was viewed by over 20,000 people, the Art Box Experience project now moves to Poznań as the event's second location. This is the first such extensive multimedia project in Poland devoted to the composer's work, prepared in collaboration with the Fryderyk Chopin Institute.

The exhibition will be on display in Poznań for almost three months - until April 30.

Who is the exhibition for?

"Romantic Chopin" is a proposal for a wide audience – both classical music lovers and those just beginning their adventure with the works of Fryderyk Chopin. The exhibition was designed to appeal to families with children and school groups, offering interactive elements and an accessible, visual narrative.

Visitors walk through several thematic spaces depicting various stages of Chopin's life—from his Polish roots, through his European journeys, to the universal, emotional dimension of his music. The exhibition features dozens of the composer's works—from mazurkas and preludes, through ballades, to concertos and polonaises—performed by distinguished world-class pianists.

Interactive experiences and immersive room

The exhibition spaces also feature interactive experiences – a multimedia relationship tree allows visitors to learn about people close to Chopin, and the immersive room hosts a 30-minute show combining his music with painterly, symbolically animated images. Visitors also visit a reconstructed manor house in Żelazowa Wola and an interactive installation featuring a cast of the composer's hand, which activates fragments of his works. The whole experience is complemented by a personal first-person narrative inspired by Chopin's letters.

"Romantic Chopin" is not just an exhibition, but an emotional journey that allows us to look at the composer not only as a genius, but also as a sensitive man - full of longings, passions and contradictions.

Entrance to the exhibition

Tickets are available online at ToBilet.pl . The exhibition will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. In addition to standard tickets, concessions and family tickets are also available. Children under 3 years old are admitted free of charge. Tickets for school groups are also available.
