This past weekend, an Army family faced an unimaginable tragedy and needed assistance. Like so many times before, without hesitation, our community wrapped its arms around the family, showing incredible care and support.
What began as a small request from a couple of residents grew into a massive outpouring of generosity, not just locally but from across the state. Because of this kindness, the family now has freezer meals to last them through March and other essential items.
In the face of a tragedy, our local and regional neighbors stepped up to help one of our own military families. Command Sgt. Maj. Arzabala, Chief Warrant Officer 5 Registe, and I couldn’t be more grateful for everything the surrounding communities continue to do for our service members and their loved ones. The people who call the Missouri Ozarks home are truly what make Fort Leonard Wood the best place to live and serve.
Our hearts go out to the affected family. You remain very close in our hearts.
