Child Youth Services spring sports enrollment begins, now open to off-post youth

By Savannah BairdJanuary 15, 2026

Fort Knox, Ky. — Spring youth sports season is right around the corner, and Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Child & Youth Services staff say there is plenty of time to sign up before registration closes on Feb. 27.

This year, non-military affiliated youth are now eligible to enroll and take part in CYS sports. Parents or youth requiring access to the installation should visit the Fort Knox Visitor Center, located at the Chaffee (Main) Gate, to obtain a visitor pass. The process requires either a REAL ID or regular ID with supplemental documentation. For a complete list of installation access requirements or acceptable forms of supplemental documentation, visit the Fort Knox Access Control website.

Those wishing to participate must first be registered with CYS. This can be done at Parent Central Services, located at 1053 Spearhead Division Avenue, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Once registered with CYS, individuals should go to the DFMWR Webtrac site and click on the “Youth Sports” page to sign up. Locate the sport and league on the page and click “Add to cart” on the lefthand side.

The enrollment is $65 per youth sport and includes uniforms. However, Youth Sports & Fitness officials say they are offering a volunteer coaching incentive for each spring sport. If a participating youth’s parent volunteers as head coach, the child or children will be able to participate in the season free of charge. For more information on this offer, call 502-624-4747.

Interested athletes must also have an up-to-date sports physical to participate.
