VICENZA, Italy – The USAG Italy Golden Lion conference center was filled to capacity Jan. 15 as community members gathered for the 4th annual Unity Breakfast, an event dedicated to fostering connection and shared purpose within the military community.

The breakfast, sponsored by the Religious Support Office and local community donations, was hosted by the Military Community Alliance (MCA).

The program featured a performance by the Vicenza Gospel Choir and a reading by Teikoa J. Washington, a U.S. Air Force veteran. Washington shared an original unity-themed poem, moving the audience with the line, “Let us remember that my experience is not yours, yours is not mine, but yet unity can still live.”

In addition to the poetic messages, the event served as a platform to recognize local youth leadership. The MCA presented the "Roots Change Agents" scholarship to the family of Hannah Findlay, a student at Vicenza High School, in recognition of her winning essay submission.
