USAG Ansbach Services Winter Holiday Hours

ANSBACH, Germany — The upcoming holiday season, Christmas and New Year 2025/2026, may affect operating hours for services provided by the Garrison and its installations at Ansbach and Illesheim.

During the USAREUR-AF half-day schedule and DoDEA winter break, Dec. 22 – Jan. 2., USAG Ansbach services may have modified hours, be reduced, or temporarily closed. Expect longer wait times at front-door services due to reduced staffing. Emergency services will remain operating normally throughout the holiday season.

The holiday schedule should have minimal impact on Soldiers, employees and families PCS-ing and transitioning to and from Ansbach, though there may be some delays in wait-times.

Unless otherwise listed, services will be closed for the federal holidays Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

By Presidential order all executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government will be closed Dec. 24 and 26.

USAG Ansbach Emergency Services will still be operational see below for specifics.

DIRECTORATE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES

  • All military police, fire department and POND gate security guards – Normal operating hours.
  • Vehicle Registration – VRO Holiday schedule
  • Installation Access Control System (IACS) – Normal operating hours, except Dec. 26 & Jan. 2 open 8-11 a.m.

  • Army Substance Abuse Programs (ASAP) – Normal operating hours, except no drug testing available
  • Postal Service Centers – Closing early at 4 p.m. on Dec. 31st for the New Year’s holiday. Normal postal operations will resume on Friday, 2 January 2026.
  • Education Center – Normal operating hours
  • ID Cards – Normal operating hours
  • Military Personnel Division (MPD) – Normal operating hours
  • Passport Office – Normal operating hours

LOGISTICS SERVICES

  • Installation Shuttle – Closed: Dec. 24-26 & 31, Jan. 1 No shuttle service
  • Dining Facility (DFAC) – Normal operating hours
  • Shipton Outpost Kiosk - Closed Dec. 15 through Jan. 4
  • Driver’s Testing Activity – Closed: Dec. 24-26 & 31, Jan. 1
  • Transportation Motor Pool (TMP) – Closed: Dec. 24-26 & 31, Jan. 1
  • Vehicle Inspection – Normal operating hours
