FORT KNOX, Ky. — Food insecurity remains a major issue in many communities. However, local organizations and initiatives are actively working to address this challenge through education, resource sharing and community engagement.

Fort Knox Community Garden: Cultivating solutions

The Fort Knox Community Garden serves as a cornerstone in an effort to alleviate food insecurity.

In 2023, the “Mission: Food Forest” project was launched to provide fresh produce and promote sustainable gardening within the community. Armed Forces Wellness Center (AFWC): Holistic health
