FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. — A new mobile photo studio for those needing a head and shoulders photograph is now open in Hoge Hall.
Located in the basement of Hoge Hall in room 013, the mobile studio is open to all service members and Department of Army civilians who need a head and shoulders photograph for command boards or award packets, said Tiffany Wood, Fort Leonard Wood Public Affairs director.
The Public Affairs team worked with the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence building manager to open the mobile studio after restructuring and manning caused the main studio in Bldg. 1000 to close earlier this year.
“Although the main studio is not available for photographic support at this time, we wanted to provide an option on the installation for those who may need a head and shoulders photo,” Wood said.

According to Wood, the mobile studio has the U.S. flag and a gray backdrop, but no photo equipment. Guidelines and instructions for the photo are available at the mobile studio, and cameras are available to check out at the Public Affairs Office in Bldg. 320.
There is no changing room so anyone using the mobile studio will need to come dressed for the photo and should plan on having another person accompany them to take the photo.
Those needing to use the mobile studio will need to check out a key to the room from Classroom Services located in Thurman Hall room 3057.
To check out a key, Nicole Stone, Academic Support Section chief, said the process is pretty straight forward.
“You will have to call and reserve the room first,” Stone said. “Once the room is reserved, you come up to the office and we will sign the key out to you on the day of your reservation.”
To make a reservation, call Classroom Services at 573.563.2508. Keys can be checked out in person from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Stone said the Classroom Services’ team is flexible when it comes to checking out the key.
“There really isn’t a limit to how far in advance you should call, as we do last-minute reservations,” Stone said. “It is a first come first served basis.”
Easy and convenient to use, there are still some considerations to keep in mind when checking out the classroom, Wood said.
“We do ask those using the mobile studio to not rearrange the backdrop or the U.S. flag and to leave everything in its required place,” Wood said. “Please contact the Public Affairs Office at 573.563.4145 for any questions or if assistance is needed.”
