Throughout the month of December, the Digital Management Division with the Office of the Chief of Public Affairs leads the Army's Year in Review. This campaign showcases the Army's biggest newsmakers through photo and print coverage on Army.mil and the U.S. Army social channels.
DMD requests support from public affairs professionals across the Army — military, civilian and contractor — in supporting this campaign via an internal awareness campaign. Below you will find a toolkit to aid in communication efforts supporting the Year in Review. Please download, use and share these products as you see fit to ensure maximum participation.
The Year in Review campaign spans two lines of effort:
- Photos: The Army's year in photos. Must adhere to associated Army and DOD guidance on visual information and be publicly released. Submissions will be received only via a DVIDS tool, available at https://cms.dvidshub.net/awards/armyyearinreview.
- Articles: The biggest newsmakers of the year. Stories of valor, incredible innovations and how the Army makes a difference. Features and hard news stories are accepted, as are compilation-style pieces. For consideration, articles must be sent to ocpadmd.yearinreview@army.mil with the subject: 2025 Year in Review Submission — [Organization Abbreviation].
For 2025, the Army Year in Review follows this general timeline:
- Throughout 2025 — Public affairs professionals capture photos and write articles detailing the Army's activity.
- August 2025 — The Year in Review EXORD is released; internal awareness campaign begins; photos are submitted via DVIDS and articles submitted via email.
- Nov. 3, 2025— Submissions close; DMD begins selection process.
- December 2025 — Year in Review site is launched; Army social media campaign begins.
Consider joining the OCPA Digital Media Working Group Microsoft Team for more information. Reference the EXORD for official guidance.
