Team,
As we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, we reflect on our rich legacy built by generations of Soldiers who stood firm in the face of adversity, unified by the promise: “This we’ll defend.” From the earliest patriots of the Revolutionary War to those who fell in more recent conflicts, each gave their all in defense of our Constitution and way of life.
We especially recognize the families of the fallen our Gold Star Families whose strength and sacrifice continue to inspire us all. Their loved ones’ service lives on in the work we do each day in support of the warfighter.
As you enjoy the long weekend, I encourage everyone to make safety a priority. Whether traveling, spending time outdoors, or taking part in recreational activities, please look out for one another and take steps to stay safe. Your well-being matters to your families, to this command, and to the mission we all support.
I also encourage each of you to participate in the National Moment of Remembrance at 3 p.m. this Monday, and to reflect on the enduring legacy of those who came before us. May we honor them not only with words, but with our continued commitment to excellence, integrity and service.
Thank you for all that you do.
Sincerely,
GEORGE C. HACKLER
