FAQ's:

Q. If I have a signed memo or Permesso di Soggiorno, do I still need to register my visit for specific dates?

A. No. VMC members carrying the memo/statement and those with a Permesso di Soggiorno issued in Vicenza—just like Veneto residents—do not need to book/register their visit for specific dates.

Q. What happens if I do not have a signed memo or proof of exemption?

A. You will be required to pay the Access Fee on the spot.

Q. Who is exempt from filling out or carrying the memo? For example, are individuals with a valid Permesso di Soggiorno residing in Veneto also required to carry a signed memo?

A. Anyone who can prove their residency in Veneto is exempt from the memo requirement. A Permesso di Soggiorno issued by the Questura of Vicenza serves as valid proof of residency.

Q. Who is responsible for entry control, and where/when might checks occur?

A. The Venice Local Police conduct checks at city entry points, including the train station, ferry terminals, bus station, and public parking garages.

WHO DOES NOT HAVE TO PAY THE ACCESS FEE?

THOSE WHO STAY OVERNIGHT IN VENICE ON THE DATES INDICATED DO NOT PAY THE ACCESS FEE, BUT MUST STILL REGISTER THEIR PRESENCE:

Visitors or tourists staying in an accommodation facility in the municipality of Venice pay the Tourist Tax, so they are exempted from payment of Access Fee, but must register their presence on the website cda.ve.it in the “Exempt from Payment” section.
After selecting “I am a guest in an accommodation facility located in the Municipality of Venice” and “Apply for exemption,” you enter your arrival and departure dates, personal data (multiple visitors are allowed), name and address of the facility where you're staying.
At the end of the procedure you will receive digital QR codes (i.e., exemption vouchers) to show in case of checks.
Host accommodations will be happy to assist guests with registration.

The exemption is recognized from the day of arrival to the day of departure at the accommodation facility.
