Venice Access Fee 2026: Info for Vicenza Community Members
The Venice Access fee for day‑trippers will apply on 60 dates between April 3 and July 26, 2026. The charge—meant to ease peak‑season congestion and protect the historic center—will apply from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Visitors who book at least four days ahead will pay €5; bookings made closer to arrival will cost €10. The fee applies only to the historic core, not to lagoon islands such as Murano, Burano, Lido or Pellestrina. Travelers transiting Piazzale Roma, Tronchetto or the maritime station remain exempt.
The fee applies to visitors 14 and older. Exemptions include Veneto residents—members of USAG Italy are considered Veneto residents—as well as students, people with disabilities and their escorts, and Armed Forces, Police and Fire Brigade personnel on duty.
Visitors may be asked to show ID at checkpoints to confirm exemption status. A full calendar and booking details are available at this website cda.veneziaunica.it/en
To all U.S. service members and affiliated personnel stationed in Vicenza: If you plan to visit Venice, please note that proof of residency in the Vicenza area and assignment to the U.S. post qualifies as a valid exemption from the Access Fee.
