Fourty-five members of Leadership Macomb visited the Detroit Arsenal Wednesday to get an idea of the role the Army and the defense industry play in Macomb County.

They received briefings from senior leaders including the installation Senior Commander Maj. Gen. Michael Lalor. The group also got to see several vehicles and some of the equipment the Detroit Arsenal team manages.

Leadership Macomb is a non-profit organization whose 10 month program brings together leaders from numerous institutions, and disciplines to obtain in-depth information about issue driven, relevant topics in Macomb County and develop long term business relationships. Since 1996, over 1,450 individuals representing more than 260 organizations have participated in the Leadership Macomb Program.

Today they visited the Detroit Arsenal as part of their Defense Day which is designed to give them an understanding of how the defense industry impacts the county. They received briefings from installation leaders, had a short tour of GVSC and had the opportunity to have lunch with Soldiers and talk with them about their lives and their military careers. Many commented that this was the best program they had so far.
