FORT EISENHOWER, GA– Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER), the Army’s premier force for data-centric operations, is committed to implementing the Army’s Data Management and Analytics Strategy. In May 2024, Lt. Gen. Maria Barrett, Commanding General of ARCYBER, appointed Deputy to the Commanding General Jeff Jones as the Command Chief Data and Analytics Officer (C2DAO).
In alignment with the ARCYBER Command Plan 27, the Technical Warfare Center was dissolved, leading to the establishment of three new directorates within ARCYBER headquarters on February 10, 2025:
1. Army Cyber Technology and Innovation Center (ArCTIC): This data-centric laboratory focuses on innovation and future capabilities.
2. Capability Development Directorate (G9): This directorate serves as the user representative for the Army’s Defensive Cyberspace Operations, Offensive Cyberspace Operations, Electronic Warfare, Cyber Electromagnetic Activities, and Information Advantage requirements, ensuring effective capability delivery.
3. Data Management and Analytics Directorate (DMA): Acting as the action arm of the C2DAO, the DMA's mission is to centralize data management and analysis within ARCYBER headquarters and promote data-centricity across the organization.
The DMA, which reports directly to the DtCG/C2DAO, comprises three divisions:
- Data Governance Division: Focuses on enterprise data policies, standardization, and literacy.
- Integration and Data Division (ID2): Deals with enterprise integrations, data engineering, platforms and infrastructure, data quality, and data value.
- Data Analysis Division: Specializes in data analytics and visualization, operational assessments, and studies.
The DMA is instrumental in ARCYBER’s transformation towards data-centricity by integrating and synchronizing efforts to deliver data and analytics capabilities for decision-making. It is an integral part of the ARCYBER Analytic Superiority Task Force (ASTF), which combines data, analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Additionally, the DMA will foster a close collaboration with NETCOM and its existing data forums to ensure alignment between Department of Defense Information Network Operations and defensive cyberspace operations data requirements.
