
Brig. Gen. Al Aycock, deputy commanding general of the U.S. Army Installation Management Command, and his wife, Sue, Command Sgt. Maj. John M. Gaines Jr. assistant chief of staff for Installation Management Senior Enlisted Adviser and U.S. Army Installation Management Command, and Wesley Leisinger, IMCOM Secretary of the General Staff, arrive in Warrior Country Sept. 23 for a windshield tour of USAG-Red Cloud and USAG-Casey.
The Aycocks' received a standard garrison briefing and had tours at USAG-Red Cloud Human Resources, Information Management Office, Chapel and Pear Blossom Cottage. After lunch at Mitchell's, the group flew in a UH-60 Black Hawk to USAG-Casey and received tours of the future Child Youth Service site, Child Development Center, buildings 2400 and 2409 being converted to schools for Kindergarten through 8th grade, which will house 24 general classrooms, 10 special purpose classrooms, four multipurpose rooms and six administrative rooms in addition to a library and cafeteria, playground area, the worst barracks and the best barracks in Warrior Country, Java CafAfA, and the Pear Blossom Cottage before departing to Yongsan.
In addition to seeing the new construction plans on USAG-Casey, Aycock, the former commanding general of USAG, and Gaines were shown all of the construction and renovation plans in
Warrior Country such as construciton going on at the front gate of USAG-RC, construction at gate 1 on USAG-Casey and construction for a new Casey Lodge on the Red Cloud post. The soon to be Casey Lodge was designed to accomodate the rising number of guests and families within Warrior Country has been having since Area 1 was given command sponsored status.
