ANSBACH, Germany (Feb. 19, 3:45 p.m.) — End exercise February 19 at 3:45 p.m.

All U.S. Army locations in Europe have been holding U.S. Army Europe-Africa (USAREUR-AF) Force Protection exercises. This concludes USAG Ansbach’s portion.

Garrison services and offices return to normal Thursday, Feb. 20. Katterbach South Gate (high school gate) and Storck Exit Gate (pedestrians only) re-open today around 5 p.m.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience during this time. Your safety is our top priority, and exercises like these allow us to evaluate and validate our security procedures.

USAG Ansbach conducting Force Protection exercise

ANSBACH, Germany (Feb. 18, 10:45 a.m.) — USAG Ansbach is currently conducting a garrison-wide Force Protection exercise, which may result in office and service closures.

USAREUR-AF and USAG Ansbach routinely conduct these precautionary exercises to improve our security processes and safeguard the community.

Be prepared for traffic delays at the gates. Always carry two forms of valid identification with you. Dependent minors are exempt from this requirement. Follow instructions from Military Police.

During the exercise, USAG Ansbach will serve as the official source of information. Please observe strict operations security (OPSEC) and do not post about the exercise or related measures to social media (including closed Facebook groups).

Force Protection exercises safeguard Ansbach community

ANSBACH, Germany (Feb. 11) — USAG Ansbach routinely conducts precautionary Force Protection exercises to safeguard the community.

All U.S. Army locations in Europe are holding U.S. Army Europe-Africa (USAREUR-AF) Force Protection exercises at their respective installations, to include here at Ansbach.

During these exercises, community members and residents may see changes at their various installations, such as delays entering the gates.

While we do not discuss specifics of our force protection measures and procedures, we regularly evaluate and validate them, which exercises like this enable us to do. USAG Ansbach and USAREUR-AF are not currently aware of any threats against our community.

We have notified host nation and law enforcement partners that we will be conducting this exercise, because their cooperation is essential, especially as traffic around the installations can be affected.

If Soldiers, families, civilians or contractors have questions about process or procedure changes during this time, do not post to social media as operational security is paramount. Take these questions to your chain of command.

WHAT YOU CAN DO NOW:
  • Always carry 2 forms of photo ID when entering USAG Ansbach installations.
