Col. Chris Anderson relinquished his role as Project Manager Intelligence Systems and Analytics (PM IS&A) at a ceremony held at Mallette Auditorium, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD on Jan. 30.
Anderson successfully led PM IS&A for over three years, overseeing the development and implementation of the Tactical Intelligence Targeting Access Node (TITAN), the Army Intelligence Data Platform (AIDP), Project Linchpin, and other key acquisition efforts. He transitions to his new role as Project Manager Next Gen C2, PEO C3N.
Anderson's tenure culminated with PM IS&A’s recognition as the Project Management/Project Director Office Team of the Year Award (O-6 Level) in the 2024 Army Acquisition Executive's Excellence in Leadership Awards, recognizing the numerous milestones achieved across modernization programs and highlighting its exceptional contributions to the Army.
The PM’s success during Anderson’s tenure was transformational and included development efforts for:
- TITAN - the Army’s next-generation, Artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled, expeditionary, maneuverable intelligence ground station to support Multi-Domain Operations (MDO), Joint All-Domain Operations (JADO), and Long-Range Precision Fires (LRPF) providing Multi-Domain Deep Sensing, Analysis and Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (PED). TITAN executed a complex competitive prototyping, selection of a single vendor, commencement of a follow-on prototype maturation phase and completed delivery of the first TITAN Advanced prototype.
- AIDP - Provides agile and adaptable software solutions fielded globally in secure and resilient Commercial Cloud environments. It modernizes the core technology fielded at the Army’s Fixed Sites/Military Intelligence Brigades with a modern Enterprise Data Warehousing and Analytics solution. AIDP organizes Data for Analytics & Hosts Services and Tools in the Cloud. From the start of fielding in late 2023, AIDP has completed deployment and training activities to more than 50 percent of the units identified to receive AIDP, achieving operational status supporting efforts in all COCOMs.
- Project Linchpin - The Army’s first Artificial Intelligence-focused Product Office that provides secure and trusted Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning capabilities for the Army. Project Linchpin enables the Army to deliver trusted solutions for AI-enabled systems through a secure Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Operations (AI/MLOps) environment and services while maximizing the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) investments.
Each of these efforts are crucial to Army modernization and represent critical enablers to the Army of 2030 and beyond as PM IS&A continues setting examples across ASA(ALT). Anderson’s dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to excellence have been instrumental in the PM’s success.
Anderson’s departure will undoubtedly leave a void within the team. His leadership, mentorship, and invaluable guidance have been deeply appreciated. His voice echoing “Happy Monday….get back to work,” at the end of each staff meeting, will be sorely missed. PEO IEW&S, Brig. Gen. Ed Barker extended his gratitude to Anderson, for exceptional service and leadership wishing him the very best in future endeavors.
With Anderson’s departure, Gregory Hartman assumed the role of PM IS&A. Hartman is no stranger to the PM having served as Anderson’s Deputy for the past three years and is well-equipped to lead PM IS&A to continued success.
Barker expressed, “We are thankful for Col. Anderson’s tenure and leadership and confident in Greg’s ability to effectively lead the ongoing development efforts at PM IS&A as they continue delivery of high-quality intelligence products and services for our Soldiers.”
This change of responsibility marks a new chapter for PM IS&A. The organization is committed to maintaining its momentum as it continues to work tirelessly to provide the best possible intelligence capabilities to its Army stakeholders.
