Army, Navy, State, County Agencies to Conduct Full-Scale Exercise Through Kolekole Pass

SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii (Feb. 3, 2025) — U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii, in partnership with Navy Region Hawaii, Hawaii Department of Transportation, Hawaii Emergency Management Agency, City and County of Honolulu Department of Emergency Management, Honolulu Police Department and Honolulu Fire Department, will conduct a full-scale exercise from Lualualei Naval Complex through Kolekole Pass and Schofield Barracks on Feb. 5, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The exercise will simulate the use of Kolekole Pass as a potential evacuation route during an emergency, such as a natural or man-made disaster, and will test the readiness and coordination of federal, state and county emergency response teams.

Media representatives are invited to attend a press conference to learn more about the full-scale exercise and speak with key leaders.

When: Feb. 5, 2025, at 8 a.m.

Where: Staging area at the old fire station on Lualualei Naval Complex, just inside the gate.

Capt. Sam “Smokey” White, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam commanding officer

Maj. Gen. Stephen Logan, HIEMA director, representing the state.

Also in attendance: Mr. Don Aweau, HIEMA executive officer, Mr. Larry Dill, HDOT highways administrator, and Ms. Tiana Wilbur, West-side community representative
