Garrison workers do many things behind

the scenes – things like providing employee assistance, maintaining buildings and ensuring security.
The organization recognized employees for their work Friday at the Garrison quarterly awards ceremony in Bob Jones Auditorium. The Directorate of Human Resources presented the event on behalf of Garrison Commander Col. Erin Eike.
“Thank you to all the awardees today,” she said. “The amount of (years) service we have here in the Garrison is phenomenal. There’s so much we do behind the scenes. It’s seamless. From the CSM (Command Sgt. Maj. John Fritz) and myself, I really appreciate all the things you do.”
The honors included an accumulative 535 years in length of service awards, and various honorary awards.
Kendra Brown, workforce development program manager for Directorate of Human Resources, served as the narrator. She was also among the recipients of a Civilian Service Commendation Medal.
“The importance (of the ceremony) is because you have new employees coming on board that are brand new to Department of the Army,” Brown said. “In addition you have seasoned employees with Department of the Army who hailed from other installations that have never received an award. And we as U.S. Army Garrison want to ensure that our IMCOM (Installation Management Command) professionals are rewarded and recognized quarterly.”
