FORT HUACHUCA, Az. — The United States Army Information Systems Engineering Command hosted two showcases featuring two global leaders in networking technology. The events, held at the USAISEC Mission Engineering Directorate Technology Integration Center, highlighted innovative strategies and concepts designed to empower enterprises with advanced connectivity solutions.
Cisco Systems representatives showcased their Software Defined Wide Area Network solution integrated with Cisco Secure Firewalls, demonstrating how this technology can enhance network resilience and security by providing redundant and diverse network paths. Juniper Networks demonstrated their Apstra product for managing campus area networks, which aligns with the US Army Installation Campus Area Network Design and Installation Guide version 2 and supports the Army's efforts to modernize its network infrastructure.
These events were aimed at improving US Army familiarity with these products and identifying how they could be used to support installation resiliency and Army enterprise modernization. “We are thrilled to host Cisco Systems and Juniper Networks to facilitate this exchange of ideas," said Jeff Bhe, Director, Mission Engineering Directorate, USAISEC. "New technology should always be tested and assessed in a lab environment before being fielded, and these events are a critical step in ensuring that the solutions we adopt meet Army requirements and support our modernization goals."
USAISEC is supporting the Army's efforts to leverage commercial innovation and partnerships to drive modernization, and to develop a more agile, secure, and interoperable network. The events concluded with each of these systems remaining in place at the TIC for further experimentation, allowing USAISEC to continue assessing and refining these solutions to support the Army's installation resiliency and modernization objectives.
