FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. — Five current and former St. Louis Cardinals baseball players are planning to stop at Fort Leonard Wood to meet with fans Jan. 17 at noon during an event in Nutter Field House.

The Cardinals Caravan — which brings players, alumni and broadcasters together with fans outside of St. Louis each year during baseball’s offseason — is scheduled to include current players Alec Burleson, Luken Baker and Jimmy Crooks, along with Cardinals alumni Matt Adams and Mitch Harris.

According to Erin Krippene, St. Louis Cardinals marketing coordinator, Harris, a former Cardinals pitcher, served in the U.S. Navy for five years prior to his baseball career.

This caravan’s emcee is scheduled to be longtime Cardinals radio broadcaster John Rooney.

The players will be on hand to sign autographs and take pictures with DoD ID card holders and their families.

To obtain a voucher for entry, stop by Leisure Travel Services, located in Bldg. 490, Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Vouchers will be given to card holders on a first come, first served basis through Jan. 16.
