REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. - The Simulation Center at U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command Future Warfare Center awarded an 8(a) Competitive Set-Aside contract to Geeks and Nerds Corporation (GaN Corp.) on Sept. 25.

"The opportunity to award a contract of this nature will allow GaN Corporation to excel in the high-performance computing arena," said Gloria Flowers, contracting officer representative for the Future Warfare Center, USASMDC/ARSTRAT.

"GaN will operate and maintain the FWC Simulation Center, handling all of the hardware and software needed to support our customers. They will also handle special technical tasks, and we look forward to them bringing another level of ingenuity and innovativeness to the Simulation Center," she said.

According to Flowers, this effort provides operations and sustainment of high performance supercomputing center that supports Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Major Defense Acquisition and Technology Programs, USASMDC/ARSTRAT, High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) and other government agency programs.

Flowers said that the FWC Simulation Center provides users within MDA, USASMDC/ARSTRAT, and HPCMP, authorized contractors, and Other Government Agencies, a centralized resource for classified and unclassified high performance computing processing, parallel processing, data visualization, modeling and simulation, networked communications, software development, testbed, and technical and administrative support services.
