Red Ribbon Week is back and bigger and better than ever as it educates kids on drug prevention. From October 23 to 31, the Army Substance Abuse Program at White Sands Missile Range is hosting exciting activities for the kids and the community.
Agents from the Drug Enforcement Agency El Paso Division made a special visit to White Sands School to share the story of Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, a heroic Drug Enforcement Administration Agent who sacrificed his life in the fight against drugs in 1985.

To kick off the activities, the White Sands Missile Range leadership, including WSMR Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. Jamal N. Latore and WSMR Garrison Commander Col. Donyeill A. Mozer, signed a proclamation to show their dedication to the cause. This marks the beginning of the nation’s oldest and largest annual drug prevention awareness program, with the 2024 theme being “Life is a Movie. Film Drug Free.”
