American and Italian leaders connected during a partnership event in Camisano Vicentino Oct. 15. Lt. Col. Travis Toole, 54th Brigade Engineer Battalion Commander, and the Mayor of Camisano Vicentino, Renzo Marangon, enjoyed local specialties at the “Sagra del bollito,” a festival focused on a mixed boiled meat dish called bollito.

The dinner was also an opportunity for Toole to meet and spend some time with the youngest members of the newly elected city council. Besides enjoying and sharing typical dishes, the group talked about their respective countries and cultures.

In addition, the event included a behind the scenes tour of the Sagra del bollito; the kitchens where the local delicacies were made and where even the young councilors volunteered their time to serve the community.
