AMC honors employees with quarterly awards

REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. – Army Materiel Command recognized 12 employees across the enterprise for their impact on the command's mission goals during the second quarter of fiscal year 2024.

The AMC Employee of the Quarter program recognizes civilian and military personnel whose contributions have played a critical role in advancing the enterprises’ mission.

Additionally, the program also aims to foster a culture of achievement and productivity, enhancing the work environment and supporting key goals such as increasing retention and improving employee engagement.

“Key goals of the program include fostering a culture of achievement and productivity, contributing to a positive work environment, increasing retention, and improving employee engagement to boost overall morale,” said Brig. Gen. Kevin Meisler, AMC chief of staff.

Dr. Jennifer Cameron, Army Materiel Command – Dr. Cameron efficiently managed and prioritized the approval processes and quality control for over 4,500 Enterprise Task Management Software Solution task actions. She handled a substantial volume of high-priority administrative tasks and maintained professional communication throughout the entirety of Headquarters Army Materiel Command and across all the AMC enterprise.

Charles Mayo, Logistics Data Analysis Center – Mayo submitted over 40 Army Enterprise System Integration Program helpdesk tickets designed to improve data quality, streamline the Non-Standard Material and Non-Standard Line-Item Numbers request process, and improve data analysis capabilities within the Army Enterprise System Integration Program Non-Standard Materiel Portal.

Joseph Wartella, Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command – Wartella implemented a solution concerning the complexity of password logins to be more end-user friendly, reducing process time by over 50% and remedied frustration issues for users to login during missions.

Carwin Sterling, Aviation and Missile Command – Sterling's efforts resulted in returning the Fort Novosel CH-47F training fleet to a posture able to achieve and sustain student flight training.

Xiao Wang, Communications-Electronics Command – Wang led efforts for several training sessions covering 1,760 National Stock Numbers to influence and level set first-time workflows with all stakeholders and make corrections to gain efficiency and accuracy.

Elizabeth Wearn, Army Contracting Command – Wearn served in a semi-acting team chief role for two teams that have been short-handed in the research and development branch, contributing to the 236 contract actions executed by the branch in fiscal year 2024 and 148 actions executed this quarter.

Esther Richard, Financial Management Command – Richard represented the Army Accounting and Audit Operations Directorate as the risk management and internal control point of contact and completed require deliverables on behalf of the directorate. She expertly completed and assisted team members with internal control testing and ensured timely delivery of risk management and internal control tasks.

Kari Hirschberger, Installation Management Command – Hirschberger improved her organization by “recruiting” dedicated firefighters. She improved the culture and the environment of her organization by making herself available to train and certify new employees.

Paul Leykamm, Joint Munitions Command – Leykamm developed the JMC Corrosion Prevention and Control Program.

Jessica Morales, Security Assistance Command – Morales managed the most robust Simplified Non-Standard Acquisition Process and Non-Standard requisitioning programs within Security Assistance Command by quantity and complex with over 1,200 assets between the two processes.

Anthony Richey, Army Sustainment Command – Richey demonstrated outstanding leadership by leading a team of Central Issue Facility employees and supporting Soldiers, ensuring that they received the critical equipment needed to survive Arctic conditions during Joint Pacific Multination Readiness Center 24-02.

Frances Muntford, Tank-automotive and Armaments Command – Muntford consistently provided outstanding human capital guidance to leaders and customers across TACOM. She has been instrumental in developing the command’s civilian hiring policy, which provides clear expectations for fair, equitable and transparent hiring actions.
