ARLINGTON, Va. – The Global Force Information Management Objective Environment (GFIM OE) program completed its latest development period on October 7, 2024 moving the Army closer to achieving a dynamic global force structure and employment data system for use by the Army and Joint global force management community of interest. Over the past nine months, the team used agile development to build core global force management capabilities. “GFIM will provide critical authoritative force structure data to enable the Army to properly man, train, equip, and resource our forces. The team used the scaled agile framework (SAFe®) approach over the past nine months of development to move GFIM one step closer to reality," said Andrew St. Laurent, U.S. Army G-3 Capability Management Officer and Strategic Operations Enterprise Division Chief.

GFIM OE software development continues in fiscal year 2025 with its next Program Increment (PI) planning event scheduled for mid-October. This event will continue the program’s momentum toward developing new and improved capabilities for the Total Army. The GFIM OE end-state solution will transition 15 outdated, legacy systems into a single solution, providing real-time holistic data for over 184,000 Army end users critical to supporting the Army’s Deploy-to-Redeploy and Retrograde End-to-End business process.
