Best Warrior Competition continues

The first event of the 2009 Department of the Army Best Warrior Competition was a board appearance on Sept. 28, at Fort Lee, Va. All 24 competitors appeared before a panel that consisted of of six command sergeants major and Sgt. Maj. of the Army Kenneth O. Preston.

The 24 competitors spent a portion of the morning assembling and checking their gear, which they will wear for the remainder of the competition. Afterward, the warriors engaged in reflexive-fire training.

The first task of the day for the warriors was the issuing of combat gear.
