Przedzamcze Street Festival in Torun coming soon
Knight shows, workshops for children or an outdoor cinema – these and many other attractions will await Toruń residents and tourists as part of the Przedzamcze Street Festival on September 28. This is a unique event that allows for the celebration of local history and culture. Visitors to Przedzamcze Street and the Teutonic Castle will be able to participate in many attractions prepared by the Toruń Cultural Agency.
Street Przedzamcze
From 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Przedzamcze Street will be filled with attractions. A beautiful flower alley and a wall full of cards with positive quotes will be waiting for visitors. For slightly more creative people, workshops will be prepared together with the Cultural Hub of Bydgoskie Przedmieście. It will also be possible to watch performances by children from the Youth Culture Center. Additionally, at 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m., there will be knight fight shows.
Teutonic Castle
People visiting the Teutonic Castle at 1:00 p.m., will have the opportunity to tour it with a guide. The tour will be possible as part of an entry ticket priced at PLN 20 standard and PLN 12 concession. The tour will last about an hour and will provide information and curiosities about the Teutonic Castle in Toruń.
At 5:00 p.m., a unique lecture from the series "A Castle Full of History" will begin. The classes called "The Military of the Teutonic Order" will be free and will be led by Professor Krzysztof Kwiatkowski. The lecture is a unique opportunity to learn about fascinating aspects of medieval life and understand how the past shaped the present.
Additionally, at 6:00 p.m., the film "Filip" will be shown at the Teutonic Castle during a unique outdoor cinema. Free tickets can be collected now at the Castle box office. It is worth remembering that their number is limited.
Przedzamcze Street Festival is an event that combines elements of entertainment, education and joint celebration surrounded by the historic walls of Toruń's Old Town. It is a unique opportunity to spend time actively and delve into local history.
Toruń gingerbread to be included on the UNESCO List
Efforts are underway to include Toruń's gingerbread traditions on the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, and ultimately on the UNESCO list.
We encourage you to take part in the 4th Meeting of the Depositaries of Gingerbread Traditions, which will be held at the Toruń Gingerbread Museum, a branch of the District Museum in Toruń, on September 26, at 5:00 p.m. During the meeting, the prepared application, which has been subject to consultations, and the results of the survey on the connections between gingerbread and gingerbread making and Toruń will be discussed.
The initiative aims to enter Toruń's gingerbread culture onto the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. - Our main goal is to cultivate memory, creatively interpret gingerbread traditions and integrate gingerbread-related communities. We want the tradition of gingerbread to live on, and its flavors and history to be passed on to future generations - informs the District Museum in Toruń.

The meeting is organized as part of the European Heritage Days 2024 under the slogan "Routes. Networks. Connections."
15 days of disruptions on the A4 near Zagan Cluster coming
September 25, renovation of concrete slabs on the A4 motorway between the Krzyżowa and Krzywa junctions begins.
The slab repair is to last a maximum of 15 days, but the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways warns that the deadlines may change due to the technology of the works or weather conditions. During the works, there will be difficulties in the form of a speed limit of 60 km/h and the closure of one lane of traffic, where the works will take place.
The first stage will cover the Krzyżowa–Krzywa section (km 53) and will start on September 25.
The second stage will start on Friday, September 27, on the section at km 61.
From Monday, September 30, the works will move to the area of the Wądroże Wielkie junction.
All three stages of the works will take place on the roadway towards Wrocław.
The fourth, last stage, is planned for October 4 – the works will return to the Krzyżowa–Krzywa section, but this time on the roadway towards Zgorzelec (km 52).
Ecological Campaign kicks off in Skwierzyna
On September 28 this year (Saturday) at 9:00 a.m. we cordially invite the residents of the Commune to join us in cleaning up Przemysł II Park at ul. Garnizonowa in Skwierzyna.
Those willing to take part in the action will be provided with bags and protective gloves.
Meet at 8:50 a.m., at the playground entrance.
A small regenerating refreshment is provided for each participant.
Powidz Municipal-Parish Harvest Festival huge success
On Saturday, September 14, we celebrated the Harvest Festival in the Powidz Commune. This year's communal and parish Harvest Festival took place in the parish church of St. Nicholas in Powidz. The celebrations began with a mass for farmers with the participation of standard-bearing guards and delegations with wreaths. The celebration was led by the Powidz vicar - Fr. Marcin Maciejewski. The musical setting was provided by the Sonata Choir and the Powidz Band.
Among the invited guests were Czesław Dykszak – Chairman of the Słupca County Council, Anna Wierzbicka – Director of the Powidz ZSP, Councillors and Village Heads of the Powidz Commune. The ceremony was led by the Councillor of the Słupca County, Director of the Cultural Centre Robert Czechorowski – co-organiser. The function of the harvest festival starosts was performed by Ewa Matuszak from Charbin and Adam Przychodzki from Wiekowo.
After the mass, the Commune Mayor and the Village Administrator of Charbin invited everyone present to the Village Community Centre in Charbin for refreshments prepared by the ladies from the Housewives’ Association.
