Around the World in 80 moments returns to Poznań

On September 14, Poznań will once again become a game board. This time, its participants will be invited to an extraordinary journey - "around the world in 80 moments".

"The title City Game, organized in connection with the European Mobility Week, will take place in Poznań. Animators with various tasks will be waiting for participants at individual checkpoints. Both younger and older players will find something for themselves. The title journey around the world in 80 moments will be an opportunity to test creativity and ingenuity and will certainly teach you something new. It is worth the effort - prizes await the winners, " informs Agnieszka Makała.

For a few hours, the center of Poznań will transform into seven continents, and participants of the game will be able to find, among others, a resident of Japan, Peru or an American cowboy. All this in the titular 80 moments.

All you need to do to take part in the event is to gather two to seven people and register your team for the game, so that on September 14, from 11:00 a.m., to 4:00 p.m., you can set off together on a journey in 80 moments around the world.

More information about the game and a link to the registration form can be found on the event website - www.gramiejska.pl

Malta Festival began in Poznań

The installation appeared on Saturday, September 7 on the streets of the Old Town. The start took place in Chopin Park, where Dominika Kulczyk, together with her daughter Weronika and the winner of the auction as part of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, knocked over the first cube of the Dominoes installation. 7,200 elements created a cascade of several kilometers, which ran through the streets and squares of Poznań and passed through private apartments and service points.

The route led along the streets: Lewandowska, Wrocławska, Wolny Dziedziniec, Gołębia, Kozia, Klasztorna, Wodna, through the Old Market Square, Żydowska, Kramarska, Wielka, Woźna, Garbary, Grobla, Mostowa and Ewangelicka. The last domino cube fell in the Stare Koryto Warty Park.

When the last cube fell in the Stare Koryto Warta Park, the audience, accompanied by the Wiedź-MY procession, the Little Amal doll and the Rebel Babel orchestra, headed towards the sculpture commemorating the woman burned at the stake for witchcraft. The Malta festival officially started there, with this year's slogan being "For Love!".

Malta meant that I could enjoy myself together with the entire city, all my friends - those people whose hearts beat faster when they can be together. That is why when it turned out that the festival needed us, I decided that I had to repay the debt to this city that carried me all these years. There is nothing more beautiful than being together, creating unity and realizing that we are simply love. That is why I have great hope that just like at the source - being with my parents, who wrapped me in this love itself - we will wrap ourselves in love, " said the patron of the festival, Dominika Kulczyk.

"Thank you very much for this exceptional edition, which really speaks about love. Malta is indeed one of the most important cultural events in Poland for the Ministry of Culture, which has an incredibly well-established brand. And hence my presence here today. To emphasize that Poznań is becoming the center of cultural events at this time. But it is also becoming a meeting place for art, ideas, people - people who have a real impact on what is happening in society. Such are the artists - ours and those who come to us during this and the previous 33 editions of the festival. I have analyzed what this year's program looks like and I can say that art during Malta becomes a tool for social change. The festival is a platform where artists from all over the world share their stories and inspire action. I am very happy about the joint actions for women. I am also talking here about the Sestra project, which supports our sisters from Ukraine. Such projects show that culture has the power. Not only to move our hearts, but also to change our reality. Let's emphasize this every day, because women who change the world are true heroes, and one of them is Jaha," said Marta Cienkowska, Deputy Minister of Culture and National Heritage.

The Malta Festival will last until September 15. During the nine festival days, 124 events will be held in 30 locations with the participation of over 500 artists from 20 countries. This is a total of 70 hours of performances, 80 hours of live music, 50 hours of talks, as well as 10 film screenings, 37 workshops and 19 meetings and discussion panels.

Have you heard of the Navel of Poznań? If not, it’s worth looking beneath your feet!

It is worth looking under your feet at the intersection of Św. Marcin and Gwarna streets! This is where the center of our city was marked out. This point, called the navel of Poznań, was a signpost before the implementation of the Center Program. In the new version, it has a flat form with lighting, thanks to which it can be found after dark.

Let us recall that the previous pole disappeared when renovation began in this place. Last year, Tomasz Dworek, a councilor from the Old Town, demanded its return. " I would like to remind you about our Poznań navel of the world - the center of Poznań, which was indicated at Gwarna Street 20 years ago! It was supposed to come back! It is a cool meeting point; it is worth redesigning it in an original way!" - he wrote on social media last year. At that time, information appeared that the "navel" would return, but in a different version.
