FORT KNOX, Ky. — Wearing personalized “SDF6 tank paint crew” shirts, eight members from various Shepherdsville Amazon Warrior shops worked together to paint one of the historic M48 Patton tanks along Fort Knox’s Chafee Avenue on Wednesday, Sept. 4.

The Warriors affinity group is comprised of Amazon employees with any kind of military background or affiliation, making this partnership a perfect community service opportunity for them according to Amazon Warrior Gina Plegge.

“We’re always looking for things to do for the Warriors,” said Plegge. “It’s good community service, good team building, and it’s a lot of fun.”

The group also assisted in the painting of a tank in Radcliff, Kentucky a few years ago.

In adopting this tank, the Amazon Warriors agreed to maintain the tank’s cleanliness and its fresh coat of paint.
