Long weekend Poznan events - free concerts at the Poznań lake and Poznań will once again become the capital of good taste!

This Friday and Saturday will be the last edition of this year's city concerts “Na Falach.”

Margaret will appear on stage on Friday. She is a debutant in the Poznań series. She is a graduate of the State Music School of the 1st degree in the clarinet and saxophone class.

During the last concert of #NaFalach 2024 on the Strzeszynek stage we will host the band Organek with the charismatic vocalist Tomasz Organek. This year the band celebrates its 10th anniversary. On Saturday at Strzeszynek there will certainly be no shortage of hits such as: "Mississippi w Ogniu", "Wiosna", Głupi ja" or "Niemiłość".

The concerts - both on Friday and Saturday - will start at 8:00 p.m. Admission is free.

The performances of Margaret and Organek will close this year's #NaFalach series, which included performances by: Natalia Przybysz, Igo (at Polana Harcerza near Lake Maltańskie) and Mitch&Mitch and Mikromusic (at Lake Strzeszyńskie).

Also this weekend  next edition of the Good Taste Festival will begin in Poznań.

The organizers are announcing a Good Taste fair, concerts, the Polish Nalewka of the Year competition, and artistic performances. Once again, the event will take place at Kolegiacki Square.

The axis of OFDS is, as every year, the Fair of Good Taste. At the exhibitors' stalls, you will find delicacies from many regions of Poland, but also from Hungary, Spain, France, Lithuania and the Middle East. There will be no shortage of wine stands, craft beers, but also traditional Poznań potatoes with gzik or grey dumplings. We will make sure that there is not only a lot to choose from (by extremely carefully selecting exhibitors), but also a place to sit down and sip a glass of wine, crate beer, kvass or lemonade, listening to good music," the organizers announce.

There will also be no shortage of musical attractions. "Musicians from the festival "Yes Chef Band!" will set up on the pedestal of the "Clock of History," who will present jazz and pop music standards in their own arrangements almost every day. On Thursday, August 15, festival visitors will watch performances by folk bands that came to Poznań on the occasion of the World Folklore Festival "Integracje" - it was announced.

The Polish Tincture Competition is already a festival tradition. On Saturday, August 17, the festival jury - the Good Taste Chapter - will evaluate all submitted drinks and the author of the Polish Tincture of the Year 2024. The verdict will be announced that same evening.

The event will run from August 15 to 18.

Heatwave is coming! Weather Agency warning for Poznan.

Heat is forecast. Maximum daytime temperature from 29 C to 31 C. Minimum nighttime temperature from 14 C to 17 C. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has issued a heat warning.

The warning is in effect in the west and center of Wielkopolska, as well as in the Kępno district in the south of the region. It is expected to be hot from 12:00 on Wednesday until Thursday evening.

Current forecasts indicate that the entire long weekend in Poznań is to be very warm. On Friday, the thermometers are to show up to 29 degrees, and on Saturday up to 28 degrees. That day, there is also a possibility of showers. It will get a bit colder on Sunday - the temperature is to drop to 24 degrees.

Summer track renovations ending soon! Trams are back on track

This is possible thanks to the involvement of Poznań track services and external contractors - says Mariusz Wiśniewski, deputy mayor of Poznań. - I would like to thank them for their efficient operation and the passengers for their understanding. Reliable public transport is our priority, and the renovations being carried out ensure safe, efficient and comfortable journeys. We must remember that the works being carried out, although they are associated with temporary inconveniences, will pay off in the future.

Most Dworcowy junction was comprehensively renovated after more than 20 years of intensive use, during which only spot maintenance works were carried out.

The scope of work included, among other things, replacing the track structure. At the junction of the bridge and Głogowska and Roosevelta streets, new tracks were installed and switches were built in. On the bridge, in turn, not only were the rails replaced, but also the road surface in the track and the switch control system. Work was also carried out on the traction network supplying the trams with electricity.

At the same time, in the Starołęka roundabout area, the southern part of the junction (from the Starołęka side) was replaced, along with the crossing over the track within the roundabout. The track and road surface was also repaired at the intersection of Starołęcka and Forteczna streets - at the entry and exit of trams from the Starołęka PKM loop.

Thanks to the completion of the works ahead of schedule, tram traffic can be restored more quickly at the Dworcowy junction, which will certainly facilitate the movement of passengers in this part of Poznań, and especially access to the Poznań Główny Railway Station - indicates Tomasz Łapszewicz, deputy director of the Public Transport Authority in Poznań for Public Collective Transport. - Much easier, because without having to change from tram to tram, it will also be possible to reach the Starołęka PKM loop.

Trams will come back to Most Dworcowy at 19th August.
