WIZZ Air launches new flight connections to Rome
Wizz Air is launching a new connection from Poznan airport, starting in September. Fliers will be able to fly to Fiumicino airport in Rome.
According to the announcement by Wizz Air via Facebook, the inauguration was initially scheduled to begin in October. However, the opening of the connection has been accelerated to where the first flight is scheduled for September 18, 2024. Flights will be available every Wednesday and Saturday, and then starting in October, Monday will be included as well.
Importantly, from Poznań you can fly to another Roman airport - Ciampino. Both are well connected with the city, but certainly Fiumicino gives more opportunities in terms of, for example, transfers.

“Perseids come from the remains of comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle, and the Earth enters them into it every year in its orbit in mid-August, which causes the phenomenon of ‘falling stars’. Radiant, the point from which meteors seem to be flying, is in the constellation of Perseus. This year, the maximum of Perseids falls on the night of August 12 to 13" - explains the researcher.
“To enjoy the best views, it is worth going to places with minimal light pollution. In the vicinity of Poznań, the excellent location is Ostoja of the Dark Sky in Izdebna and Chalin, and if you are looking for something closer, it is worth visiting the Morasko Nature Reserve" - he adds. "The All-sky Light Pollution Survey (Nurems) stations will soon be near both locations to measure artificial light pollution. One of them will be located on the roof of the Faculty of Physics. All these places will provide ideal conditions for observing this amazing phenomenon.
